Waco Judo has signed a lease at 545 Westview Village, right in the heart of Waco. That means we’ll have our own space, with an expanded class schedule and a first class falling surface, for greater safety and comfort for all our members. By the end of August, the move will be complete. Until then, classes will continue in Hewitt.
Our new home is 2200 square feet of dedicated judo training space, the first and only one of its kind in the Waco area.
- Better Schedule – The final schedule is yet to be determined, but the bulk of our kids and adult classes will take place in the afternoon and early evening hours, making training much more convenient. We’ll also be able to add daytime classes, judo personal training sessions, judo-specific strength and conditioning, wrestling, jiujitsu, no gi grappling and more.
- New Mats – Brand new 2 inch thick tatami mats, purpose made for judo.
- Spring floor – underneath these mats will be a custom built floating floor, supported by closed cell polyethylene foam blocks. When our new mats are laid on top of this surface, it creates the highest quality falling surface, soft and springy yet firm and supportive. This is known as the “Denver floating floor” and is the highest standard for judo training floors. Click here to learn more about this type of floor.
All our current membership prices will be in effect until September 1st. If you’ve been thinking about starting judo, now’s the time! If you sign up for a membership before September 1st, you can lock in your cost for a full year of training.
